Leaving for a vacation from prison is not an unconditional privilege. A vacation can only be granted to prisoners who answer the criteria posed by the Israeli Police and the IPS.
A prisoner who answers these criteria may leave for a first vacation after serving a quarter of his sentence (a minimum of two months).The prisoner's leaving for vacation shall normally be reexamined every time, and if approved – the prisoner shall leave for a vacation once every two months or once a month, for 6-96 hours, according to conditions, criteria and the type of prison in which the prison stays, and under the limitations of the Israeli Police.
