On 29 June 2008 , the government decided to approve the outline of the agreement  for the  release of the Israeli Soldiers held hostage, by which  the kidnapped soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regv will be returned to Israel ,  Samir Kuntar and four illegal Lebanese fighters currently held by Israel will be released to Lebanon.

The release will take place on Wednesday June 16, 2008.
